Life is unpredictable. Train for the Unpredictability of Life. The way we have to physically move to navigate this unpredictable life will never fit a standard template. That’s why the human body is capable of moving in so many different ways. 

Why We “Train for the Unpredictability of Life”: The Power of Hybrid Strength

For this reason, training in a wide variety of different movements is great for us. If you’ve gotten strong and comfortable in a broad spectrum of exercises that put the body into many different shapes and directions of movements, you’ll be more resilient to the random physical scenarios life throws at you. Of course, we all love that working out improves our appearance, but the older we get, the more fitness goals also include being able to play with your kids and grandkids, being able to hike on uneven ground, play a sport like golf or pickleball with friends, and load luggage when you’re in a hurry to get to the airport. All events that have us moving in random ways. 

This is why our hybrid strength class is a great complement to the other strength classes we offer. Train for the Unpredictability of Life. Our main strength classes primarily offer linear strength training, which builds a basic, solid foundation for strength. The hybrid strength class utilizes exercises that move in ways most traditional strength training doesn’t (rotational and lateral), plus incorporates movements where the body is unstable to challenge balance and coordination. You can look at this as traditional strength is the cake, and hybrid strength is the icing. Who wants a cake with no icing??
